Corporate Fear -10/23

Many conservatives ask, why does much of corporate America support leftwing causes?

Although the Harris campaign accuses Republicans of being the party of the wealthy, how is it that Democrats have a huge cash advantage in presidential and down ballot races, much from corporate interests?

Why do many corporate executives not intrinsically support capitalism?

They hold their positions to enhance and protect their bottom line. Often that involves staving off government coercion. They live in fear of the socialists and becoming a Microsoft-like target.

Microsoft executives were primarily apolitical until the 2001 antitrust lawsuit was filed against Microsoft. Support for left-wing groups by Bill Gates has steadily increased and the antitrust action has evaporated. This year Bill Gates has given fifty million to Harris PACs. Microsoft donates 80% to Democrats.

In 2011, the Gibson guitar company was raided by armed federal agents for the use of illegally imported endangered wood. Interestingly, Martin guitar company, according to their catalog, was using the same wood. They were not harassed and fined. Gibson’s chief executive contributed to Republican causes, while Martin’s CEO was a long-time contributor to the DNC.

In 2022, the country was hit with a baby formula shortage. The largest baby formula factory, owned by Abbott Laboratories, was shut down for months by the FDA even after tests showed it was not the source of an infection. Abbott Laboratories was a contributor to conservative causes. Later in the year Pelosi pushed for increases in FDA funding.

Trump staged work at a McDonald’s franchise last weekend to make a campaign point. Even though McDonald’s released a statement that they are politically neutral, and are golden, not red, or blue, Senate Democrats attacked McDonald’s on Tuesday for price gouging.

A letter was written by Sens. Ron Wyden (D-OR), Bob Casey (D-PA), and Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) to McDonald’s Chief Executive Officer Chris Kempczinski questioning McDonald’s pricing decisions.

Coincidentally???, Tuesday the Center for Disease Control (CDC) linked McDonald’s quarter pounders to an E. Coli outbreak in ten states.

As prudent homeowners in the Midwest buy property insurance against tornados, corporate executives see donations to left-wing causes as insurance against government harassment.

Conservatives must create similar fear in executives by going after companies with DEI and other left-wing policies.

Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) -9/18

Let me say a few things about our brash former president. His personality makes him an easy target. The flamboyant, plain spoken, exaggerating, name calling, opulent-living man is a turnoff to many. That he achieved his wealth by the traditional capitalistic method of actually producing something is a nemesis to most on the left.

Trump’s personality traits caused him to fail miserably in a rigged, three-versus-one debate. The false, incorrect fact checking of candidate Romney years previous was stepped up many notches by left-wing anchors employed by a friend of Harris. Twenty-one falsehoods from Harris were ignored while Trump was called for some statements that were not false.

To the establishment, Trump justifies extraordinary measures to discredit him. He is a threat to the Washington bureaucracy’s power, protected jobs, and income. Who can doubt that many were disappointed the second assassination attempt on Trump was unsuccessful?

Although both would-be assassins donated to left-wing causes, MSNBC’s Reid claims that both “are white, American, Trump-supporting men with guns.”

Will we next be told next that the sun comes up in the west or that God no longer exists and has relinquished all power to the government?

Hillary Clinton said, “I’m very hopeful, and even optimistic that Americans who do not want to see a continuation of this politics of hate and division will reject Trump.” She told MSNBC that those engaged in spreading what sounds like Russian propaganda should be civilly or criminally charged. When Russia was communist, the left had no problem spreading Soviet propaganda.

Political talk of “Hitler, and End of democracy” from the left is ignored and justified. Kamala Harris’s senior adviser, David Plouffe, once called for the extermination of former President Donald Trump and “his kind.”

The completely discredited Chattanooga “fine people on both sides” allegation of Trump is continually repeated although anyone really interested in what was said knows better.

Does anyone believe that the groups which have perpetuated such fallacies would not throw an election if given a chance?

Given another four years of speech suppression, corporate intimidation, increased bureaucratic power, lawfare, and new control measures, will a future well-spoken, easygoing, amiable opposition candidate ever have a chance?

Even me-too Bush was tagged as a racist because of the Paris, Texas murders although he refused to commute the death sentences, and fellow me-tooer Romney was tagged as an animal abuser.

The establishment, if successful and bolden by their destruction of a candidate who has a huge advantage on the issues, will doom any challenger in the future. The left’s allegation of the end of democracy would come to pass.

Neighborliness and Socialism 8/20

The Democrat VP nominee, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz told a group that socialism is what some people would call neighborliness.

And what does the weed growth in my yard have to do with the price of tea in China?

Neighborliness is watching your neighbor’s pet while they’re away or mowing a sick neighbor’s yard. It is helping a neighbor financially who lost their job. It is giving to a church or charity that spends less than fifty percent of its donations on administration and advertising.

Socialism is trading your liberties for the financial well-being of bureaucrats. We are told socialism reduces the gluttony of the elite. But it just reassigns gluttony to the controlling class from the producing class; from factory managers and workers to Washington bureaucrats, from entrepreneurs to professors and teachers who teach less and indoctrinate more.

How has the middle class fared in socialist Venezuela, Cuba, China, or the Soviet Union? Their expanded bottom class lives off the whims of the controlling elite. How many times have we heard that socialism would work if only under better management only to see it fail?

The Harris minions are spouting commitment to the middle class. But as our government has grown in the last five decades, the middle class has shrunk from 61 to 50% of the population, according to the Pew Institute. Are we to assume growing government even more will alter the trend?

Nominee Harris’s policy-lacking indications (mostly hidden) plans to increase government spending dramatically. She has proposed food price controls. The grocery store industry operates on the lowest margins of any industry. Can we look forward to food shortages as experienced in Soviet Russia or Venezuela?

Do you remember toilet paper becoming a form of currency in Venezuela. Recently, while independent exit polls in Venezuela showed the opposition leader winning 70% of the vote, the socialist regime holds power claiming 51% of the vote. Is this our future?

What to Believe 8/13

The lack of information from the Secret Service and the investigating FBI about the Trump assassination attempt give rise to many conspiracy theories. https://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2024/08/12/dissension_toxicity_plagued_trumps_secret_service_detail_before_assassination_attempt.html

Mounting information from the public and local law enforcement agencies supports a major multilevel failure of the secret service. The longer the investigation takes, the less scrutiny it will receive from the media. Will the truth ever be known or those responsible held to account?

The attempted assassin’s (I will not use his name) phone had three foreign ‘encrypted’ apps. How common is this? The best funded and supposedly the best investigative agencies in the world can’t crack the accounts?

Cocaine was found in the White House last year. In the building with the most surveillance and security in the world. Its source cannot be found.

Long known pervert Epstein died in a prison cell while security cameras were down, and guards did not follow protocol. His hanging from a bunk bed ladder was ruled a suicide.

Media attention and thus public perception of economic numbers is focused on government estimates. The revisions or corrections in job reports and the Gross Domestic Product, GDP, get less scrutiny.

The May jobs number estimate was revised from 272,000 down to 218,000; and April’s numbers dropped from 165,000 to 108,000. The June revised numbers, which included 70,000 new government jobs, were 15% below the estimate.

Seven months in a row the initial estimate of jobs created was higher than the revised number. What are the odds of flipping a coin and finding heads seven times? (1 in 128)

My analysis of government quarterly GDP numbers show the estimates being corrected and revised upward were 50% higher under Trump’s presidency than the average of Obama’s tenure, and 100% higher than under Biden’s tenure. Co-incidents, no doubt?

If you are a government employee, and know which party protects your job, advocates for your raises, and will not fire you for grievous blunders, which way might you lean in statistical analysis reporting?

_____________

Safe jobs 7/22

One analyst has identified 19 errors by the secret service that allowed a crazy to shoot former President Trump. Whistle blowers are stepping forward, obviously risking their careers because tattling is a sure way to get crosswise of the bureaucracy.

If any federal employee gets fired, it will be an anomaly, although they may throw all the blame on one person to protect others. In business 1% of the workforce gets laid off or fired per year. Less than 0.25% of federal employees get fired per year, only 25 per 10,000.

Recently, a substantial portion of those 25 refused to take the covid vaccination, which allowed the government to cull people who might hold more conservative beliefs and be less prone to following mandates.

The reason government employees are protected is obvious. It is a solid voting block for the left. In 2020, the district of Columbia voted 90% for Biden. In Fairfax County, Virginia, one of several with many federal employees, Biden got 80% of the vote.

In the last fifty years, non-government employee productivity has increased 2.1% per year. Home builders use nail guns instead of a hammer. Office workers use a computer rather than a pencil to add numbers. But the number of government employees continues to rise over 1% per year.

          1984  16.1 mm

1994  19.1 mm

2004  21.6 mm

2014  21.9 mm

2024  23.3 mm

https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/USGOVT

In fiscal year 2024, the Biden administration plans to add 82,000 federal employees which will bring the federal workforce to near four million.

Are you afraid our energy sources would dry up without the 14,000 Department of Energy employees? How our education system would collapse without 4,400 Dept of Education employees -the more employees the lower test scores. Or the 17,000 NASA employees who have produced what in ten years except reliance on a Russian space station?

If the four million federal employees vote 90% for the party that protects them, the rest of the country will need to vote 51.2% the other way to match their vote.

In 2020 a total of 155mm people voted. If the nearly 20 million state and local government employees vote 80% for the party of government workers and are added to the federal employee vote, the rest of the country must vote 57.3% for the other side to offset the government vote.

Getting over 57% of non-government workers vote isn’t an easy task.

Does this explain why government workers are seldom fired? What size will the government workforce need to be for one side to control all?

Motive 7/18

An estimated 17 million people were murdered by the German National Socialist regime under Adolf Hitler and their collaborators between 1933 and 1945. That number does not include the millions who were killed in WWII started by the Nazis.

With prior knowledge of what Hitler was to wreak upon humankind, most moral people would have attempted to take Hitler out early, had they known what was to come.

To establish a democracy, it is estimated that twenty-five thousand Americans died, about one percent of the population, in the war of independence. One person risking their life to preserve what many died for seems not only heroic but proper.

I could quote pages of utterances of Democrats and media figures who equate the Republican nominee with fascists, Nazis, and Hitler including a New Republic cover page depicting a caricature of Trump as Hitler.

Should we be surprised when a young loner, who desirous of attention, tries to do what he surmises is the right thing given the propaganda he has heard to save democracy and avoid a bloodbath by a new Hitler?

Recently many of the purveyors of end of democracy, he’ll be dictator for life, and he’s like Hitler claimed to be praying for his recovery. Why would you pray for his recovery if you really believed the BS you were putting out?? You would instead pray for his demise.

If you really believed that a Trump election would put you in jail or in front of a firing squad as some say they fear, why wouldn’t you sell your home and move out of the country while you could, perhaps to the utopia of Venezuela, or Cuba?

Bottom line—the left doesn’t believe what they are putting out, but now they wish to absolve themselves of the consequences of their hyperbole.

Does anyone believe the public will ever know the truth or whole story on the Crooks kid’s background and motive, or the secret service’s failure when the investigation is done by the politically compromised FBI?

Alexander Solzhenitsyn, Soviet dissident in a letter criticizing Stalin.

Democracy 7/11

If the opposition wins, our democracy is in peril we are told. The charge is endlessly repeated by those running the country consisting of a cadre of politicians, the legacy media, and bureaucrats. Also in the cadre are Hollywood types who believe their ability to deceive by acting makes them smarter than your plumber. According to the self-appointed elite, the death of democracy awaits if elements of control and power are wrestled from them.

By the classic definition, democracy is a system of government in which state power is vested in the people or the general population of the state.

President Biden overwhelmingly won the vote of people in his political party through a series of primaries. Although the primary was open to other candidates in the party, none of any stature ran.

Voices questioning Biden’s mental acuity were raised by the opposition from the time he used Covid as an excuse to run a basement campaign in 2020. The questions were called partisan propaganda. Videos of the president struggling were called cheap fakes by the white house and in-step media spin.

The defense of Biden continued after we heard a prosecutor say that because of the president’s mental state he couldn’t endure a trial, although there was evidence of guilt in mishandling classified documents.

For years we heard variations of “Sharp as a tack” in description of Biden’s mental abilities from white house personnel, politicians, and friendly media -all of whom knew better. The end justifies the means was the operable rationale.

Now that the emperor has been exposed without clothes, we hear NBC leftwing apologist Chuck Todd say a senior cabinet member told him two years ago that they didn’t think Biden could continue as president.

“I don’t think he can serve four more years, ABC political commentator and former Clinton advisor George Stephanopoulos answered in response to a question.

Does this activity fit the classic definition of democracy? The people in the president’s party made a choice, although it was based upon the biggest coverup since Watergate. The same people responsible for the coverup now wish to overturn the people’s choice in primary elections. It is Hypocrisy with a big H.

This fits the classic definition of an oligarchy not a democracy.

The Wizard of DC 6/28/24

An omniscient wizard controlled the land of Oz. He controlled all. To question him was to toy on the edge of lunacy. His words were the only truth. Do not believe what your eyes see, or your ears hear for it is a lie, residents were told. For a favor, bowing in worship at the altar of knowledge and rightness was established protocol.

That is, until a little dog named Toto sunk his teeth into the edge of the curtain and pulled it back.

Our President is as sharp as anyone and in total control of his faculties. You had better be thoroughly prepared to meet him because his questions will have great debt, we were told. Videos implying otherwise were altered by right-wing crazies.

Faced with unrelenting propaganda, our eyes could not be trusted according to the powers-that-be, all backed up by the compliant legacy media.

-Covid originating in a Chinese lab is right-wing craziness

-Russian interference threw the 2016 election

-A laptop was a Russian product not connected to Bidens.

          -The border is secure

          -The economy is great

-If we are not returned to power, it will be the end of democracy

-Trump called white supremacists fine people

This list could go on for pages.

A Rasmussen poll recently found that only 7% of the population said they would want their candidate to win by cheating, while among the elite that number jumped to 35%.

The biggest question in the country today is: Who is running the country?

Trump had the opportunity to destroy poor Joe Biden but didn’t. When accused of having the morals of an alley cat, Trump could have responded -at least I didn’t shower with my teenage daughter like someone.

It would have been a baiting tick-for-tat. Which may have caused Biden to lose his temper and say, “How dare you repeat a falsehood.”

To which, Trump could have responded. “Oh, I understand the rules now. You can repeat innuendos, but I cannot.”

When Biden referred to a letter from fifteen economists who say Trump will destroy the economy, Trump could have responded -I’m surprised you couldn’t find more than fifteen signatories from left-wing universities. After all, you found fifty-one intelligence experts to claim the laptop was a Russian product.

Danger lies when an event comes in which officials and the media should be believed, but who will?

Anarchist-Marxists 5/29/2024

Can anyone envision a connection between anarchists and Marxists? They inhabit opposite ends of the ideological spectrum, anarchists on the far right of libertarians versus Marxists, advocates of total state control, on the left.

Yet in Boston the progressive mayor, Michelle Wu, announced support for district attorney Rollin’s new policy of forgoing prosecution of over a dozen crimes, including

    shoplifting

larceny

receiving stolen property

driving with a suspended license

breaking and entering with property damage

malicious destruction of property

     minors in possession of alcohol

possession with intent to distribute, non-marijuana drugs.

https://www.foxnews.com/media/boston-democratic-mayor-says-criminals-should-prosecuted-theft-gang-registry-should-abolished

Does anyone believe the city would allow squatters to break in and vandalize the home of a zoning commissioner in an upscale neighborhood? Or a DEI employee? Or a city parks supervisor?

But the owner of a local diner or auto garage, or welder in a factory is fair game.

Initiative and labor are to be discouraged; compliance rewarded.

Anarchy, in effect, is survival of the fittest, or Social Darwinism which is antithetical to socialism. Kid yourself not, the use of chaos is only a means to an end.

Grandson’s scary app 5/10/2024

My Grandson sent me a new app for my cellphone. It was experimental and was alleged to expose gaslighting. I didn’t ask where he got it, installed it, and aimed the lens at TV news coverage of a presidential address.

On the app filtered cellphone screen I could see the president babbling, struggling to read the teleprompter as normal. Looking closer, I could see strings attached to him. The strings led to four advisors standing behind them. They were pulling the strings manipulating the puppet.

I focused the lens on one string holder standing behind him. Suddenly, I could see what the person was thinking:

Whew, what a relief was this week’s idiotic disclosure; thank you Governor Neom. It may have saved the country from a brutalist anti-democracy takeover. No short step between killing dogs and guys like me. If the public’s unwarranted malaise hysteria stroked by an unharnessed segment of the media is successful, some of our worst fears will be realized. We’ll lose power and may be exposed.

With another four years we’ll shut down the wayward media and criminalize anti-state behavior. We’ll implement the tactics that have been applied in other nations. Operative will be –show me the man and I’ll show you the crime.

An election of the unwashed, orange-haired tyrant unbeholden to properly educated, sane leaders would be a calamity. But we can take solace that the overweight, highly strung, egomaniac is at substantial risk for heart failure or another hoped-for calamity. A sane vice president standing in the wings could save our democracy.

Thankfully, as evidenced by a disclosure in her self-amplifying book, Kristi Noem will not be that person. She is a self-admitted cold-blooded dog killer.

She’s the creepy governor of a state that glorifies antiquated ideas of freedom and a primitive pioneer culture that seeks to out-Texas Texas. Thankfully, she has figuratively shot herself not in the foot but in her chiseled midsection.

The behind-the-times belief that “dogs’ lives don’t matter” and that there is a Biblical separation in the value of humans and other living things is dangerous. Such a belief comparatively raises the value of human life. It brings undo attention to late-term babies killed in the womb and politicians ignoring the daily murder of humans in Chicago.

I turned my cell away from the TV and proceeded to delete the app. Sometimes physical validation of what I suspect, but hope is wrong, is too scary.

Marxism and Food – 5/03/2024

A spokesperson for Columbia University pro-Hamas protesters recently pleaded for humanitarian assistance for those taking over and vandalizing a building.

“Like, could people please have a glass of water? Do you want students to die of dehydration and starvation or get severely ill even if they disagree with you? If the answer is no, then you should allow basic, I mean, it’s crazy to say because we’re on an Ivy League campus, but this is like basic humanitarian aid we’re asking for.”

Let’s see, the protesters had occupied the building for ten hours. What a shame no food for ten hours. Did they expect the school to pander to the spoiled brats as prolonged childhood has accustomed them?

The dorm cafeterias were open. They were free to leave. But the fast-food restaurants within walking distance do not specialize in the vegetarian cuisine which they demanded.

The protester spokesperson identified herself as a Ph.D. student and instructor at the Ivy League school. She has described her forte as applying a ‘Marxian lens’ to romantic literature. She has been a political strategist for various leftist causes and worked on former mayor Bill de Blasio’s campaign.

The irony of a Marxist pleading for food is amazing. The links between the application of Marxist ideology and food shortages are replete.

Ukraine was known as the breadbasket of Europe until Marxist Stalin’s purges killed 3.9 million people and sent many near starvation. Empty food stores were a norm throughout Communist rule in the Soviet Union. The most amazing thing most Russians found, who were allowed to travel to America, was the plentiful shelves in U.S. grocery stores.

The economic decline of Venezuela, once the richest country in South America, coincided with a Marxist takeover. Even though many people left the country within a short period of time food became scarce. To describe the food shortage in Venezuela, let’s look at a 1/11/2022 article from a Marxist-sympathetic news outlet, NPR.

At a soup kitchen in a hillside slum overlooking Caracas, cooks prepare stewed pork, rice, and salad for about 50 children who are weighed and measured while waiting for their meals. As a volunteer uses a tape measure to check the circumference of a little girl’s arm, her mother, Eileen Cabello, expresses alarm. “Look how thin her arm is,” she says. “She is nearly 5 but lacks the height and weight of a 5-year-old.”

A survey published in May 2021, found that 42% of over 46,000 measurements taken from children in Venezuela’s poorest neighborhoods reflect stunting or wasting. That means the children are too short or underweight for their age.

Although the teaching of history is taboo at many universities, the spokesperson for the Columbia protesters must harbor an innate, unspoken fear of food shortages embedded in her warped ideology.

Source of Protests -4/27/2024

Why have many elite universities been literally taken over by a minority faction? —graduations and classes canceled or moved remotely. Why are the rights of Jewish people, a historically tormented group, ignored as they are harassed and prevented from attending classes which they have paid for or signed loans for?

It is not that the suppression of free speech, and the protection of minorities is against applied school policy. The neo-Marxists running many universities have no problem stifling conservative speech and traditional values. A cross or nativity scene appearance on campus would drive administrators bonkers.

What grievance motivates the protestors?

As interviews disclose, many are followers who really know nothing about the cause and tag along because it appears to be the in thing to do. Some young men at the protests see it as a chance to endear themselves to feminist girls who otherwise shun men. Feminists, whose hatred of America runs so deep, side with those in the Mideast who recognize no rights for women –feminists who aren’t sure whether men can have babies and wish to destroy opportunities for women by opening women’s sports to men. Gay flags can be seen at the rallies dismissive of the fact that gay people are tossed from roofs in some Mid-eastern countries.

The ideological basis of the protesters who think they understand the cause is anti-colonialism. Anti-colonialism has replaced classism as a cause for grievance among Marxists. Students are taught that colonialists raped the land that they stole from Indigenous Americans, Aborigines in Australia, and attempts were made to do so in Africa.

Their victories include changing a football team’s nickname from Redskins to Commanders. It signified that the bureaucrats in Washington are our betters to be obeyed, although polls showed most Indigenous Americans opposed the name change.

The irony of the protesters’ argument is the misperception about which tribe or group originally occupied the area of Israel. A warped view of history or most often no understanding of history is common as students are taught what to think not how to think.

If the protesters, in application of anti-colonialist ideology, really understood history, they would know that Israelities first occupied the land of Israel for centuries, since the iron age, 1,200 BC. The UN’s 1948 declaration of a Jewish homeland was inherently an anti-colonial move. Israelities had been booted from their homeland by Romans, Babylonians, Byzantines, and many other groups. They are not the colonialists but the original inhabitants. Palestine was never a country and the term Palestinians commonly described people booted out of Jordan.

But what do facts matter when they conflict with a woke/popular agenda?

University Free Speech 4/24/2024

Is the first amendment operative on university campuses or is it applied selectively?

Incidents of conservative speech suppression at universities are voluminous.

A few:

-Dartmouth Univ.-rated #240 on thefire.org free speech rankings of 248 colleges.

College Republican events canceled because of progressive threats.

-Cornell – rated 212 -harassment prevents conservative Ann Coulter from speaking

-Stanford – rated 207—mayhem prevent a federal appellate judge from speaking

-Princeton – rated 187- cancelled a conservative feminist speaker, then organized a

                        protest against that speaker.

-San Franciso State – Swimmer Riley Gaines assaulted while advocating for gender-

exclusive women’s sports. No assaulters expelled or charged.

Here’s how some other prestigious universities rank:

Northwestern – 242 out of 248 in free speech ranking

            Univ of Pennsylvania -247

           Yale – 234

           Harvard – 248 (yes, that’s last place)

           Columbia – 214

The Ivy league is the poison ivy of free thinking.

University administrators turn their head at the harassment of Jewish students by using their lop-sided definition of free speech.

At Columbia University, those celebrating the massacre of 1,200 Israelites on October 7, are allowed to set up tents and force the cancellation of in-person classes.

How ironic it is that women are overrepresented in these pro-Hamas demonstrations. An ideology/theology that does not recognize women’s rights. Does the gay rights contingent at these rallies realize that gays are tossed from roofs in Iran and its proxies?

When will our elected representatives stop the transfer of public funds to institutions that only allow free speech to groups that adhere to their Marxist views?

Changing Definition of Democracy 1/16/2024

According to Webster, the definition of Democracy is:

A government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving periodically held free elections.

We know definitions change over time. Gay used to mean joyful, happy, and merry. We must wonder how soon left-leaning Wikipedia will change its definition of democracy to fit the elitist culture.

President Biden recently declared, “I reaffirmed my commitment that the United States will stand by Ukraine as it defends its democracy.”

The President (or the people really running the country) obviously have a different definition of democracy than Webster.

Ukrainian President Zelensky has suspended 11 political parties, effectively making Ukraine a one-party state. He has banned all opposition and seized control of the country’s media outlets, which he describes as a ‘unified information policy.’ The one-party Ukrainian government continues to harass the Orthodox church.

A former Ukrainian MP, regarded as a Russian sympathizer, was recently assassinated by Ukraine security service and many other opposition leaders are in jail. After being elected in March 2019, Zelensky dissolved parliament in May 2019. —Tis the new definition of Democracy?

Does this not sound like a dream to many in Washington who covet such measures in America and wish to describe Ukraine as an example of democracy?

            Free speech  -gone

            Free press     -gone

            Freedom of religion  – curtailed

            Opposition     -jail

History remembers a central European leader who dissolved a parliament in 1933. Russia’s President Putin was last elected in 2018, but corrupt or not they held legislative elections in 2021. Corruption ratings place Russia and Ukraine as the most corrupt countries in Europe. (https://tradingeconomics.com/country-list/corruption-rank?continent=europe). Putin may be an authoritarian, but with a GDP of less than Italy how major is his threat?

We know that Zelensky fired 9 top officials for corruption. We know that the house budget committee’s request of a full accounting of taxpayer funds sent to Ukraine has been ignored. One must wonder how much of the money is seeping back into the U.S., lining pockets in Washington and the military-industrial complex.

Does anyone notice the Russians becoming bad guys to those on the left in this country coincided with their abandoning communism?

Border Crisis- another view 1/29/24

According to government statistics 2.8 million migrants were found illegally entering the country in 2023, 2.7 million in twenty-two. When 2021 numbers and 2024 expected numbers are added plus an estimated number of ‘gotaways’ who entered without detection, the tally will be over ten million under President Biden.

Some may be criminals and releasees from prison, others with bad intentions for our country, but most, we assume, are seeking a better life, although illegally.

If we assume only one per thousand illegal immigrants have terrorist intentions, that means 10,000 potential terrorists are in the country in unknown locations. Let us optimistically assume that three-fourths give up their terrorist intentions; that leaves 2,500 on a mission.

Nineteen terrorists conducted the 911 terrorist attack. Assuming they had an equal number of facilitators in the country, killing three thousand Americans was done by less than fifty people. Given my assumptions and calculations, fifty times those involved in the 911 attack are in the country now.

Do I expect a terrorist attack this year? — NO.

A terrorist attack before the election would expose the folly of open borders and doom this President’s string pullers from power. Given our foreign adversaries’ ascension under the present Washington regime, a terrorist attack now would be counterproductive for them. Why shoot the golden goose?

Most illegal immigrants are coming to better their economic situation. Those who have the courage to leave their homeland for a strange new land are losses to their countries. They have the vibrant spirit and ambition those countries need, unlike those comfortable with third-world conditions.

We would not consider plundering the gold in third-world countries or their oil reserves. But we are willing to take their most valuable asset, people with the initiative to improve their countries.

Russian Opposition Murder 2/21/2024

Announcement of the death of a leading Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny came on February 16. Authorities are refusing to release the body until an inquest is conducted. He had been sentenced to a 19-year term at an Arctic penal colony -as many/most leftist leaders in this country wish to deal with their opposition.

Politicians, the media, and internet exploded with condemnation of President Putin under the assumption that he had the man killed. Given that other opposition leaders in Russia have met violent ends, it is an obvious assumption that he was put to death under tyrant Putin’s orders.

Not that Putin isn’t responsible, but let’s analyze the murder given three realities.

-A brutal dictator, yes; stupid, no; Putin didn’t get his position and hold it by making mistakes. He is brilliant and has control of his faculties -unlike another world leader.

-There is no reason to think Putin desires failure in Ukraine. It is reasonable that he desires victory with as little loss of money, equipment, and Russian soldiers as possible.

-Ukrainian President Zelenskyy has warned that without more aid from America the Russians may prevail. Whomever ultimately prevails, more American aid will assure one thing -more Russian losses.

Congress is at a stalemate over whether and how much more aid to send to Ukraine. The murder of a Russian opposition leader only enhances the prospect of more aid being granted to Ukraine. President Putin is not ignorant of American politics.

Given the three realities above, why would Putin do something that may tip the scales toward more arms for Ukraine when the opposition leader was safely locked up?

Addressing US military officials, President Zelenskyy recently said, Ukraine is not fighting just for its own freedom but for global democracy.

Ukraine has eliminated free press, outlawed opposition parties, jailed opposition leaders and one was murdered (sound familiar). Is this his definition of democracy? Why does no one challenge his definition?

Does anyone notice the irony of Washington pushing Ukraine to fight while pushing Israel to negotiate?

Does anyone think we would see the same vitriol toward Russia among leftists if she were still communist?

Progress since 1969 3/3/2024

Imagine how things were in 1969. If you didn’t live at the time, this will give you an idea of what it was like 55 years ago.

1. You preferred to phone those without too many 0, 9 or 8s in their number as dialing big numbers on a rotary phone would take a long time.

2. TVs had a 25-inch screen at max, only received three channels, and it took two strong men to move them.

3. Music was heard on the radio or from plastic 45 or 78 rpm discs. Eight-track music was just coming in.

4. Adding numbers was done by hand or on an expensive, big, noisy, desktop machine.

5. A car that traveled over fifteen miles per gallon was efficient.

6. Meetings, by definition, were in-person affairs involving travel.

7. You carried a paper map in your car to get somewhere and prevent getting lost.

8. Computers filled rooms and required much energy to operate.

9. If you wondered what the weather would do in an hour, you looked at the sky.

10.You didn’t get a picture of an unexpected event because you left the camera at home.

However, in the summer of 1969 something spectacular happened. We put men on the moon and brought them home safely.

In 55 years think how far we have come.

1. Your contact numbers are stored, and you need only tap a name, not dial.

2. Lifelike images appear on TV screens that can cover a wall at a fraction of the inflation adjusted cost of 55 years ago.

3. Eight tracks, cassettes, and discs are obsolete. Any kind of music can be streamed.

4. Addition, multiplication, or finding a square root can be done on a spreadsheet or by   asking Alexa.

5. Cars routinely travel over thirty miles per gallon, more safely, and in comfort.

6. Meetings can take place electronically without the need to travel, freeing up time.

7. Your phone or car GPS can direct you anywhere.

8. The device in your pocket has more computing power than a room full of computers 55 years ago.

9. Multiple sources of radar can tell you where it is raining and which direction it is headed.

10. Little goes unrecorded now as everyone has a camera in their pocket. (Makes you wonder why not more UFO/bigfoot pictures.)

However, not in all endeavors have we seen progress since 1969. NASA’s new Artemis Moon Rocket that cost over $40 billion is years behind schedule and billions over budget and has failed many times.

Unlike the successful manned moon landing in 1969, NASA landed an unmanned module on the lunar south pole on February 22, 2024, only to have it catch a foot on the surface and tip over. And we depend upon a Russian made space station.

One must wonder how many of the above stated ten areas of progress in 55 years would have taken place if they had been managed by the government.

Wouldn’t you love to spend more time rotary dialing 990-887-9078, than it now takes to search for your favorite movie on Amazon?

Fairness 4/10/2024

Experts say that 2-4 times more people carrying XY genes transition to become women (XX genes) than in the opposite direction. Like much in our society those transitioning in the minority direction face discrimination. We must address the inequality based upon the direction of people gender-righting themselves.

Those still carrying XY genes, regardless of hormone therapy and surgery, have innate physical advantages over natural women, hence nature gives them an affirmative advantage in women’s sports because of the XY effect that cannot be stymied. Perhaps the advantage is nature’s way of compensating for nature’s (God’s) mistake of giving them genes that don’t match their true identity.

But what compensation is granted to those transitioning in the other direction?

Those carrying the XX gene whose true identity is male have little chance competing with XY-carrying men in sports. Where is the fairness? Nature does not offer them affirmative action physical traits to compensate for its mistake.

Given that no inherent compensation is given to natural women that are really men, society must act to level the playing field.

In baseball, batters are allowed two strikes and three balls before the consequences of striking out or given a pass to first base. Perhaps transitioned men should be given three strikes and only two balls for consequences to level the field.

In football, the transitioned might wear one pink shoe to designate them only able to be tackled or blocked by a hand not a shoulder without a penalty.

In basketball, the transitioned should have a shorter 3-point line and be granted more safe space in which a foul may be called.

In track, the 100-meter dash should be 90-meters for the transitioned.

In weightlifting, a 15% recorded increase in weight lifted should apply to the transitioned.

Yes, for those who don’t know me this is satire, but given the era in which we live how ridiculous is it?
